OTTUMWA-On Monday, December 5, 2016, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Ottumwa Police Department responded to 225 S. Foster in Ottumwa to assist paramedics and fire department personnel with a medical call for service.
When officers arrived, it was determined that a resident of that address identified as Jeremy Judd Richardson, age 47, had been assaulted.
A second resident at that address, Tammy Lynn Tate, age 47, also had been assaulted and was unconscious.
Johnnie Lee Boutchee, age 53, also of 225 S. Foster, Ottumwa, was arrested and charged with Willful Injury, a Class “C” Felony, in relation to the assault on Jeremy Richardson. Boutchee is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail with a $15,000 cash only bond.
Later that day, the Ottumwa Police Department executed a search warrant at 225 S. Foster in relation to this incident. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional criminal charges are anticipated.
Both Richardson and Tate remain hospitalized as a result of their injuries.
