OTTUMWA – George H. Bradley, 77 of Bettendorf, formerly of Ottumwa, died January 3, 2017 at his home.
He was born December 1, 1939 in Ottumwa to Bernard and Wilma Fern Pollock Bradley. He married Sharon Kay Kapp on September 29, 1962 and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2002.
George was a 1959 graduate of Walsh Catholic High School. He served with the Iowa Army National Guard and he worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, retiring in 2001.
He was formerly a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa where he served on the Parish council. He was most recently a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport.
George enjoyed golf, gardening and especially spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Lori (Jeff) Rogers of Miles City, MT, David (Kelly) Bradley of Overland Park, KS and William (Jennifer) Bradley of Bettendorf; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Donna) Bradley of Omaha, NE; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Ralph) Franklin and Debbie (Mike) Thode; and brother-in-law, Joe (Cindy) Kapp.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Seibold.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home. A Christian Wake will be 2 p.m. Sunday followed by family visitation until 4 p.m. Sunday.
