Ottumwa Regional Health Center Recognizes Employees for Community Engagement

OTTUMWA-The Employee Engagement Program at Ottumwa Regional Health Center celebrates employee involvement in the communities they serve.  In 2016, ORHC employees logged over 8,500 hours of their own time for a variety of activities including ORHC sponsored events (Breast Cancer Awareness, Heart Month, Kidney Month, Babe Ruth World Series, RAGBRAI Bike Ride, etc.)  In addition to sponsored events, employees gave their time to free health clinics, student physicals, fundraising for cancer patients, honoring veterans, church activities, coaching, volunteer fire department and so much more.

“Volunteers make our communities a better place to live and I’m proud to say ORHC employees are a big part of our communities,” says Phil Noel, CEO.  “To celebrate and thank the generosity of our team, we hold a drawing each quarter and award someone 8 extra hours of vacation time.  At the end of the year, we have a grand prize drawing for our volunteers for dinner and a weekend at Honey Creek Resort.”

The winner of the 2016 4th quarter drawing is Wahyu Boentoro.  Wahyu is a staff accountant and volunteers many hours to his church activities, wherever he is needed.  He was awarded an extra day of paid vacation.
