OTTUMWA—Registration for the 2017-18 school year will look different in the Ottumwa School District. The district is in the process of transitioning to an electronic registration process.
Part of this process involves helping every district parent create an account in PowerSchool, the district’s student information system. One advantage of this system is increased communication between school and home through alerts sent to email and phones. This spring, the district will work to assist parents to become more comfortable with PowerSchool.
Creating a parent account is the first step in the eregistration process. Parents can do this at home by following instructions posted on the district website under Parents. The district is also providing access to computers during parent-teacher conferences for parents to set up their account. Using a cell phone to set up the parent account is not recommended. Computers are also available for public use at Ottumwa Public Library.
