Rash of Stolen Vehicles in Ottumwa

OTTUMWA-The Ottumwa Police Department is asking for the public’s cooperation in reducing the number of stolen vehicles in Ottumwa.

Most of the vehicles stolen in recent months have involved vehicles whose owners have left the keys in the vehicle or left the vehicle running while at a gas station.

The most recent vehicle theft occurred on February 8th, at approximately 6:00 A.M. at a gas station located on Mary Street.  The vehicle had been left running and unlocked outside the store.  While the driver was inside, a subject entered the vehicle and drove away.  This vehicle, a blue 2006 Ford Escape bearing Iowa license X6260, is still missing at this time.  Anyone having information about the stolen vehicle are asked to contact the Ottumwa Police Department at 641-683-0661.
