OTTUMWA-In recognition of National Heart Month, the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is hosting a Fitness Fair on Tuesday, February 28th from 5:30pm-7 pm in the Cardio/Pulmonary Rehab area on the 2nd floor.
The community is invited to meet with the staff and area health and fitness organizations to learn about many of the exercise opportunities available to them in the Ottumwa area.
“We want to provide an opportunity for the public to get a more informed look at all the local options available as well as increase awareness of the benefits of exercise”, says Leslie Heemsbergen, RN, MSN, Nurse Educator at ORHC. “We hope that with this information, participants will be motivated to make some positive changes and exercise safely.”
Area fitness agencies that will be set up at the Fitness Fair will include Active Ottumwa, Anytime Fitness, the Ottumwa YMCA, The Beach Ottumwa and the Hy-Vee Dietician.
Activities for participants will include chair yoga, exercise safety, blood pressure checks, treadmill and stationary bicycle demonstrations and healthy nutrition options.
