Father-Daughter Dinner and Dance Coming Up in Blakesburg

Blakesburg, Iowa-The Board of Trustees of the Blakesburg Public Library will be hosting its annual Father-Daughter Dance “Hawaiian Nights” on Saturday, March 11, 2017. The dance will be from 6-9 p.m. at the EBF Blakesburg Elementary Attendance Center gymnasium.  Get out your grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts, and practice the hula, limbo, and chicken dance!  This year’s father-daughter dance will feature a Hawaiian theme with tropical decorations, party favors, treats and beverages.
The event is open to all daughters from Pre-school through 12th Grade, and their dad (or favorite male adult, such as uncle, grandpa, etc.). This annual event is a great opportunity for girls to get dressed up for a special date with dad.

The fee is $20 per couple. If a dad has more than one daughter, the fee is $5 extra. Refreshments will be provided, participants will receive Hawaiian leis and other party favors, along with a commemorative photograph of the event. The photo area will be available for “selfies” or group photos after the official portraits have been taken.

An RSVP is not required, but would help with planning. Please call Sonni Deevers a 641.799.5993 or Cheryl Talbert at 641.777.0048.  All proceeds will help fund library collections, programs, and services.

And don’t forget!

The Blakesburg Christian Church NYR group will be serving a dinner before the annual Father-Daughter Dance on Saturday, March 11, at the church.

Dinner will begin at 4:45 p.m., and will include an appetizer, salad, chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, a roll, choice of dessert, and either tea, water, or lemonade. The cost of the meal is a free-will donation.

RSVP’s are appreciated to help us prepare seating accommodations and with the meal preparations. Please RSVP by March 8, 2017 for the meal to Karie Heuer via text or phone at 641-680-6420.

Please consider supporting our local youth/NYR group as they work hard to raise funds  to attend National Youth Retreat in Colorado and other activities this coming year.
