Rich Attends Pinto Horse Annual Conference

Heather Rich, Ottumwa, along with Roger Altman, President of the PTHA board

OTTUMWA-Heather Rich, of Ottumwa, recently attended the Pinto Association of America Annual Conference. This is held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma each year the first of March and is a 4 day conference during which the Pinto Board of Directors and board committees meet.  The annual members meeting and awards banquets are also held, as well as educational seminars.

Heather has been the secretary for the Iowa Pinto Horse Association for five years and is the alternate director for the state of Iowa for the Pinto Association of America. During her time at the conference, she joined the Youth committee, attended the Show Management seminar, and the Field Representative seminar. As a field Representative, she can assist in registering your Pinto and answer many questions you have pertaining to this area.

Pinto is a color registry, so many horses are able to cross register, if they meet the criteria, and show at Pinto Approved shows. She has been a full time stenographer for 20 years. However, showing horses with her mother and daughter has been Heather’s passion for nine years, learning all she can and helping out in the horse community as time allows. She encourages kids to participate and above all have fun and keep learning.
