Susan Rose (Wilson) Penfield, age 77, of Albia, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her residence in Albia.
She was born on April 15, 1939 to John K. and Mildred C. (Bloodsworth) Wilson. She married Lyle Richard Penfield on September 16, 1963, and they were blessed with two children, John Richard and Deanna.
She worked as an LPN at the Albia Hospital for several years and then was able to be a stay at home mom. Later, she was a Child Care Provider in her home, helping raise several families, who she treated like her own grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Dan) Blackford; daughter-in-law, Lisa Black; grandchildren, Cressa See and (Zac Petersen), Joshua (Megan) Pearson, Trever Blackford, Christopher (Dana) Black, Vada Kay Penfield and (Mark Straube); great grandchildren, Tatum, Shelby, Joey, Sayler, Adeline, Kylee, Lane, Ashtyn, Gwen; sister, Patty Kurimski of Albia, brother, Jimmy Wilson of Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John K. and Mildred Wilson; husband, Richard; son, John; sister, Sharon K. Saville; and brother-in-law, Bob Saville.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Elder Lois Behrens officiating. Burial will follow services in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Open Memorials.
