Names Confirmed of Car Crash Fatalities

Wapello County-An Iowa State Patrol Crash Report is now confirming the names of two men killed in a car crash Monday morning, March 27th just north of Agency.

The report shows that a 2004 Chevy Silverado was being driven by Casey Eugene Jarmes, 18 of Sigourney, eastbound on Bladensburg Road.  Casey’s passenger in the vehicle was his 16 year old brother, Cale Alan Conard Jarmes.  Casey failed to stop at a stop sign at Agency Hedrick Road.  The truck was then struck by a 2010 Kenworth Semi Tractor which was heading northbound on Agency Hedrick Road.  The semi was being driven by Joseph Dale Snakenberg, 61 of Webster City.  After striking the Silverado truck, Snakenberg’s semi went on to hit a tree on the side of the road.  Both vehicles eventually came to rest in a ditch.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene at 08:17 AM.  At that time, Snakenberg and Cale Jarmes were both pronounced dead on the scene.  Casey Jarmes did receive critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ottumwa Regional Health Center.  The crash report does note that Casey and Snakenberg were both wearing seatbelts, but it does not specify for Cale.

The Iowa State Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
