Life Sentence for a Man Who Sexually Assaulted Infant Daughter

Albia, Iowa-An Albia man convicted of sexually assaulting his own daughter was handed down a sentence Thursday morning, March 30th.


Justin Michael Stickrod, 31, will spend the rest of his life in prison after sexually assaulting his then 2 1/2 month old daughter in February 2016.  Stickrod was convicted in February of this year of 1st Degree Sexual Assault and Child Endangerment by a Monroe County jury.  The conviction came after a trial that included explanation of just how brutal the attack was on the infant.  Court testimony explained that the injuries sustained would most likely cause the infant to have problems having children in adulthood.

Albia, Iowa—A man has been arrested in Monroe County for the sexual abuse of a 2 ½ month old infant. Justin Michael Stickrod, 30, is currently in custody in the Monroe County jail.  He is being held on a $68,000 bond.


On Thursday, February 4th, 2016, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department took a report of a 2 ½ month old infant having been sexually abused.  Albia Police Department assisted in the investigation that led to the arrest of Strickrod on Friday, February 5th.  He is being charged with Child Endangerment-Serious Injury which is a Class C Felony and Sexual Abuse-1st Degree which is a Class A Felony.



Court records show that Stickrod was also arrested in Polk County on Friday, February 5th for 1st offense OWI.  He was put in custody in Polk County jail before bonding out.  He was then put in custody in Monroe County jail where he has remained since that day.
