OTTUMWA – Alvin Raymond “RayRay” Burns, 82, of Ottumwa died at 7:34 p.m. April 15, 2017 at his home.
He was born October 17, 1934 in Kansas City, KS to Leo Leslie and Lela Wiser Burns. He married Jill E. Stewart on October 9, 1953.
A graduate of Westport High School in Kansas City, MO, he had served in the U.S. Marines Corps. Ray had worked 47 years for the Milwaukee Railroad retiring as an engineer in 1998.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Jill; three sons, Raymond Burns of Ottumwa, John (Debbie) Burns of Tulsa, OK and Charles (Rose) Burns of Des Moines; a daughter, Linda (Robert) Parker of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Robert Leslie Burns.
His body has been cremated and services will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
