Ottumwa Bulldog Archery Team Competes at Nationals

OTTUMWA—Several members of the Evans Middle School archery team recently competed at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Bulleye and 3-D Tournament competitions in Louisville, KY.


The Evans team ranked 42nd out of 89 in 3-D Competition and 174th out of 242 in Bullseye competition. Participating team members included:  Cloe Armstrong, Skyeler Benedict , Makenzie Fischer, Annabelle Fridinger, Sophia Fuller, Jolie Grothe, Dallas Kester, Dawson MacQueen , Clayton Morris, Hadden Peterson, Hunter Seals, Jeff Shauman, Jordan Sylvester, Ty Tucker, and Brittany Vandenburg. Other team members “aged up” included:  Xander Johnson, Eisenhower; William Miller, Horace Mann; and Erinne Mendibles, James.


Several students also competed in the Centershot Ministries National Competition. Students included:  Michaela-Ann Schlechter, OHS; and Makenzie Fischer, Annabelle Fridinger,  William Miller, Hadden Peterson, Ty Tucker, and Brittany Vandenburg, Evans Middle School.


Members of the Ottumwa Bulldogs Archery Team representing grades 4 – 12 will compete during the Iowa Summer Games in Ames on July 15 at Iowa State University. Season practice for the team will begin September 5.
