Seymour, Iowa recovery still in need of funds – Fundraiser underway

Seymour, Iowa-On March 6, 2017 the small town of Seymour, Iowa was devastated by an EF-2 tornado.  The tornado ravaged homes, businesses and destroyed the K-12 school.  In great Iowa fashion, “neighbors” from around the area swamped the small Iowa town to help clean up the debris that was left in its wake, but the work is not done.  The community will still be resuming school in an old nursing home facility this August, and there are still families facing unexpected bills associated with the storm.  This type of crisis is one we all pray we never have to face, but when we do it’s good to know we aren’t in it alone.

While none of us can replace the photos or grandma’s quilt, we can help ease some of the monetary concerns of our family, friends and neighbors.  From now until Sept. 29th, we will be selling raffle tickets for two great prizes, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Seymour community.  Prizes include a new John Deere X350 lawn tractor with 48” mower deck or use of a new John Deere 6135E tractor with an H310 loader for one year, or 300 hours, whichever comes first.

For a chance to win the lawn tractor simply make a $10 donation to the cause and we’ll put your name in the drawing.  Want more chances to win, make a $50 donation and you’ll be entered to win 6 times!

For a chance to make your farm chores a bit easier, make a $25 donation and be entered to win use of the 6135E.  Get five chances for a $100 donation.

Tickets are available at Sinclair Tractor, the Centerville Eagles, Southeast Iowa NAPA in Centerville, at local fairs & events, or by mail.  Other ticket locations will be available soon.  Winners will be drawn during Pancake Day in Centerville on September 30, 2017.  Need not be present to win.  For complete rules, or to print the mail order form, please visit our website at  All donations are welcome and appreciated.
