OTTUMWA-In 1967 Lyndon B. Johnson was president, the Beatles released their hit “All You Need is Love” and Toni Frymoyer took a job at St. Joseph hospital in Ottumwa as a messenger. At that time she never imagined that job would turn into a 50 year career.
“I like what I do because I can make a difference for other people,” said Toni. “I’ve held many different positions in the organization and the variety of things I have done has kept me interested and always challenged.”
As her career advanced, Toni worked as a health unit secretary, multiple departmental secretaries, nursing service, EKG/EEG technician, an HR information specialist and HR generalist. In her current role as HR Generalist and she performs a wide range of duties in the HR Department, related to employee benefits such as FMLA, workers compensation, medical/dental, and life insurance plus updates to the HRIS system.
“Toni is a great example of commitment to the hospital, our employees and our community,” said Phil Noel, CEO of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. “We are grateful to have such a dedicated person helping people through her work here for the past 50 years.”
Toni says she loves the health care field and enjoys having knowledge and experience from all aspects of her career path. She feels blessed to have been able to give back to her hometown of Ottumwa. Toni has also been active in the community, helping with the Race for the Cure fundraising event the past 15 years. This year Toni was awarded the Honorary Chair for the 2017 Komen Southeast IA Race for the Cure for her many years of volunteer service to this event.
“I’m proud of the care we provide here at Ottumwa Regional,” said Toni. “I was born and raised here and it is important that we are able to serve this community with high quality care.”
Congratulations Toni on your 50 year employment anniversary. ORHC is truly grateful to have such a dedicated employee.
