Milestones Area Agency on Aging and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) is sponsoring a FREE community Shred Event on July 20, 2017. People can clean out their files and bring their outdated paperwork to the Quincy Place Mall parking lot, 1110 Quincy Avenue between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Other community supporters are South Ottumwa Savings Bank, American Family Insurance and Meridan Credit Union, Walmart, HyVee and Thomas W. Evans Pediatric Dental. On-site shredding is provided by Shred-it. Small business shredding is accepted.
This a safe and convenient way to dispose of your obsolete personal papers containing Social Security, Medicare, Health Insurance, Credit Card and Banking identification numbers. Shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce your risk of identity theft and Medicare fraud. Milestones Staff and SMP volunteers will be on hand with information on identity theft and protection.
If you have questions about the Shred Event, please call Lisa at Milestones AAA, 641-684-1024.
