OTTUMWA-UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Iowa donated $150,000 to the Ottumwa Family YMCA to build a new playground for families in Wapello County. The fully inclusive playground will be accessible for all children, and will include swings, slides, climbing walls and more. Friday, November 3, UnitedHealthcare and the Ottumwa Family YMCA are hosting a community build to begin construction of the playground. Dozens of leaders and volunteers from UnitedHealthcare and YMCA are expected to attend, along with members of the Ottumwa community.
The playground will open to the public later in November. Details of the official dedication ceremony will be available in the weeks to come.
