OTTUMWA-The annual community Thanksgiving dinner will be held at the Knights of Columbus, located at 123 West Third Street in Ottumwa. It is estimated that close to 1500 meals will be served on that Thanksgiving day, November 23rd.
A group of volunteers have joined forces with the Knights of Columbus to offer this meal on Thanksgiving day. It is a huge volunteer effort. Volunteers have been recruited this year to prepare food, but there is a huge need for drivers and servers to prepare the home delivered meals.
All helpers are welcome. The volunteers helping box up the home delivered meals should arrive by 8:30AM. Drivers for the home delivered meals should arrive by 9:00AM. Food servers for those dining in should arrive by 10:30AM. Clean up helpers should be at the Knights of Columbus by 12:30PM.
The menu includes turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, vegetable, roll and dessert. This food is provided through the generous support of many businesses as well as other individuals in the Ottumwa community at no charge to the customers.
The public is invited to come and enjoy the lunch at the Knights of Columbus. Lunch will be served from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Thursday, November 23. No reservation is needed.
