Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapons Charges

Ryan Lawrence Gillen, age 22 and Theresa Ann Lomax, age 43

OTTUMWA-On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at approximately 4:37 a.m., Ottumwa Police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Ferry and Chester in Ottumwa.

 

As a result of the traffic stop, officers seized controlled substances and a loaded handgun.  The following people were arrested and charged with the following crimes.

 

Ryan Lawrence Gillen, age 22, of 1642 N. Elm, Ottumwa, was arrested for:

  • Possession with the Intent to Deliver More Than 5 Grams of Methamphetamine, a Class “B” Felony
  • Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a Class “D” Felony
  • Carrying Weapons, an Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor

 

Theresa Ann Lomax, age 43, of 911 Locust, Ottumwa, was arrested for:

  • Possession with the Intent to Deliver More Than 5 Grams of Methamphetamine, a Class “B” Felony
  • Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a Class “D” Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a Class “D” Felony
  • Prohibited Acts, Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor
