Cardinal Shooting Comets Archers Finish Big at State Tournament

Eldon, Iowa-The Cardinal Shooting Comets finished the Archery year with a  BANG at the Iowa State Archery Tournament in Des Moines on Saturday and Sunday March 10th and 11th.  The Tournament was held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.  Over 1,700 archers were involved in the tournament.


In the 3D Tournament, the Cardinal Elementary 3D team were State Champions finishing 1st.


The following archers scored in the top ten:


Chase Johnson shot a 264 finishing 2nd in State.

Paiden Rupe shot a 252 for 9th place


MaKayla Barnes shot a 251 for 3rd place.

Ava  Ballard shot a 242 for 4th place.

Lauren Sloan shot a 218 for 9th place

Autumn Sertterh shot a 214 for 10th place.


Cardinal Middle School 3D team also were State Champions finishing 1st.


Allison Sloan is State Champion shooting a 282 for her 1st Place in State.


Montana Rupe shot a 278 for 7th place.

Austin McClure shot a 276 for 8th place


Cardinal High School 3D team finished 8th in state.


Jacob Stitles shot a 279 for 8th place

Cardinal Elementary team placed 5th in State.


Cardinal Middle School team had a 2nd Place finish in State.


Cardinal High School team placed 20th in State.
