Thomas Albert Meredith, 81, of Moulton, Iowa passed away on October 7, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born February 9, 1937 in Floris, Iowa to Clarence Albert and Hazel LaVerne Post Meredith. He married Mary Blew on May 27, 1960 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Davis County.
Tommy worked at the Floris Creamery, Jones Creamery in Bloomfield for 10 years, Ersel Miller Produce for 15 years, Warsaw Homes for eight years until they closed, and Keith’s Grocery for 30 years, retiring in 2008. While not working, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and eagle watching with his wife. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife; son, Jerry (Emily) Meredith; daughter, Barbara Meredith; three grandchildren, Josie Meredith Johnson, Breanna Meredith, Riley Duke; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton Johnson, Brantley Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; daughter, Mary Elaine Meredith; sister, Phyllis Cook; brother-in-law, Jack Blew; and in-laws, Van and Opal Blew.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Lee Carr officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date at the Sherman Chapel Cemetery in Davis County. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday morning. A memorial has been established to the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
