Suspect Arrested in Weekend Shooting

Michael James Williams, age 24, of 410 Bruce Street, Ottumwa

OTTUMWA – On Monday, October 8th, 2018, at approximately 5:13 p.m., the Ottumwa Police Department arrested Michael James Williams, age 24, of 410 Bruce Street, Ottumwa, on the charges of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C Felony) and Carrying Weapons (Aggravated Misdemeanor).


This arrest is a result from the shooting incident that took place in the 800 block of Ellis Street on Sunday, October 7th, 2018, at approximately 3:13 a.m.  In that incident, a 17 year old male sustained a single gunshot wound and is recovering from his injuries.


Williams is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail with a bond of $12,000.
