Obitiuaries: Helen M. Findling Campbell

OTTUMWA-Helen M. Findling Campbell, 67, of Ottumwa, died at 10:20 a.m. December 4, 2018 at Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

She was born August 24, 1951 in Kirksville, MO to Harold and Leatha Baskett Findling.  She married Ronald L. Campbell on January 22, 2013.

A 1970 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Helen had served with the U.S. Army Reserves.  She had worked at Sutherland Lumber and Pedrick and Thorne Ace Hardware.

Helen had been a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Christian Motorcycle Association and Rose Chapter #552 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; step-son, Michael J. (Tara) Campbell of Centerville; step-grandchildren, Keegan Campbell, Jane Campbell, Chase Campbell and Sadie Campbell; her mother, Leatha Middleton of Ottumwa; 2 sisters, Marlyn  Copeland and Lin Drumm both of Ottumwa; a brother, Richard Findling of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Findling; step-son, Aaron Campbell; two brothers-in-law, Phil Drumm and Bruce Copeland.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating.  Military services will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Cremation will follow the services.  Inurnment will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.  Eastern Star services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Serenity House, Rose Chapter #552 Order of Eastern Star or Christian Motorcycle Club.
