Friends of Blakesburg Public Library to Hold Trivia Night

Blakesburg, Iowa – If you have a lot of otherwise useless knowledge floating around in your brain, you may be able to put that knowledge to use to win yourself some cash. Put together a team of four to six people and participate in the Friends of the Blakesburg Public Library Trivia Contest for a chance to win up to $100.
The event will consist of seven rounds of 10 questions on a variety of topics including, but not limited to sports, art, music, movies, literature, history, geography, holidays and general knowledge. Some rounds may include pictures or audio or video clips. There will be opportunities to acquire bonus points and the team with the highest score at the end of the night will take home the top prize.
Outside assistance in answering trivia questions is not allowed, so participants should not plan to ask the audience, phone a friend, or eliminate wrong answers from a multiple-choice question. This is not “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”
The Trivia Night event will be held Saturday, March 16th at the elementary school cafeteria in Blakesburg. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the games will begin at 6:30. The event is open to teens 14 and older and adults.
The fee is $10 per person, and the top prize of $100 will be awarded as long as more than 40 people participate. In addition to the top prize, other prizes may be awarded for the most original team name, best-dressed team (according to their team name), and most original wrong answer.
Snack foods and beverages will be provided for game participants. If you are looking for a great time with great friends for a great cause, and the chance to win some cash, we have just what you need, with no “Jeopardy” involved.
Proceeds from the Trivia Night will be used to help renovate the new library facility in Blakesburg. Participants will go home with a lot more knowledge than they came with through this “Trivial Pursuit.” For more information, or to register a team, please call or text 641.777.0048 or email or
