United Way of Wapello County fights for the financial stability, education and health of every person, in every community. To that end, the organization has announced ambitious goals:
GOALS FOR 2032
Education: Raise the Graduation Rate
- Investing in quality early learning, literacy success, and out of school time interventions.
Income: Increase by 20% the number of households in Wapello County that are financially stable
- Investing in income growth, money management, affordable housing, and food security.
Health: Reduce the number of children and adults who are unhealthy or engage in risky behavior.
- Investing in access to care, safe environments, and wellness that promotes healthy eating and lifestyles.
United Way invites 501(c)3 organizations doing outstanding work in these areas to consider applying for United Way Community Impact Grants. Nonprofits apply for funding for programs that align with the Goals for 2032 strategies and their applications are reviewed by United Way board members, volunteers and staff. Applications are due May 10, 2019.
