Monarch Butterfly Tagging Event at Pioneer Ridge

It is time again for monarch tagging. The monarch butterflies have started their journey south, and we hope to catch and tag 100 of them as they travel through our area. The peak of migration could be any time in September, but it is weather dependent. We are planning to catch and tag monarch butterflies on Friday, September 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM as they settle down for an evening rest. If the peak happens after this date, we will announce more last-minute tagging events on our Facebook page. So make sure you are watching. We never know for sure when they will be coming through. Bring a net if you have one, or borrow one of ours. Dress for being on and off the trail as you will likely need to walk into the prairie to catch the butterflies. See you Friday!!

Ages: All    Cost: None     Time: 4:00 PM     Place: Pioneer Ridge Nature Center
