OTTUMWA – James Waldon Landtiser, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 9:40 a.m. September 7, 2019 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born February 10, 1932 in Livonia, MO to Birney and Seryice Sneigar Landtiser. He married Evelyn Enloe on May 2, 1960.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, James served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked 13 years for Columbia Steel in Portland, OR and 10 years for Clow Manufacturing, retiring in 1985.
He was a life member of Walter B. Schafer Post # 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; four children, Tamie (Tony) Gilland of Albia, Marcie (Francis) Bricker of Albia, David Landtiser of Arizona and Will (Kelly) Landtiser of Eldon; twelve grandchildren ; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Landtiser of Ottumwa, Ronnie Landtiser of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Terry) Landtiser of Portland, OR;.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Faris and Gilbert Landtiser; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Ottoboni and Avis Crumes.
Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
His body will be cremated following the visitation.
Memorial has been established to Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
