OTTUMWA – Robert L. Barnett, 71, of Ottumwa, died September 7, 2019 at his home.
He was born September 11, 1947 in Albia to Leroy Francis and Nellie Haneline Barnett. He married Marilyn “Molly” Prevo on May 31, 1974.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Bob served in the U. S. Navy. He had worked as a custodian for Ottumwa Schools and as a lab courier for Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Bob also had worked at the Ottumwa YMCA as a foster grandparent.
He enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales and flea markets in search of antiques.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Marilyn; two daughters, Tera (Carey) Cunningham Erbst of Ottumwa, Tiffany Barnett (Jeffrey Felles) of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Macaulay, Brekkin, and Steven Francis, Isaiah Erbst, Cameo, Raquel and Caleb Felles; a great-grandchild, Kalahan Francis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dakotah Francis; a sister, Edna Mae Stocker; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fern and Robert Prevo.
His body has been cremated. Family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
