OTTUMWA – Joann M. Collier, 82, of Ottumwa died at 4:06 p.m. October 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.
She was born April 14, 1937 in Ottumwa to John and Mary Bond Paxton.
Joann graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1956 and had worked in the laundry at Ottumwa Regional Health Center for over 30 years, retiring in 2005.
She enjoyed NASCAR, dirt track racing and watching her favorite movies and TV shows. She loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Jean Billingsley of Ottumwa; six grandchildren, Jon “Pip” Menius, Christa (Tristan) Grothe, Jolie, Emily, Paige, and Tommy Grothe; a brother, Harold Paxton of Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Collier; a daughter, Melinda Collier; a sister, Eva Sipes; four brothers, John Richard, Wilbur, Gilbert, and Jerry Paxton.
Her body has been cremated.
Graveside services and inurnment will be 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
