OTTUMWA-Ruth Ann Worth Arnold, 73, of Ottumwa, died at 10:09 p.m. January 12, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born February 26, 1946 in Ottumwa to Harold and Helen Nevins Worth. Ruth married James Richard Arnold on May 29, 1964.
A 1964 graduate of Eddyville High School, Ruth had worked at Chamberlain Mfg., Merrill Security and cared for her grandson, Corey.
Ruth enjoyed sewing, quilting, genealogy and collecting sewing machines, but most importantly she enjoyed her kids and grandkids.
Surviving is her husband, James; her daughters, Julie (Jim) Plemons of Burnsville, NC, Brenda (Richard) Frase of Ottumwa and Michelle Arnold of Bowen, IL; 8 grandchildren, Ricky (Chrissie) Plemons, Jessica Badschild, Cressa (Zach) Peterson, Josh (Megan) Pearson, Stephanie (Nathan) White, Corey Frase, Chris Arnold and Amanda (Tannim) Covert; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie Mathias of Chillicothe and a brother, Rick (Dianne) Worth of Dudley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Allison officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
