Velma Jean Corzette, 91, of Ottumwa, died at 10:45 a.m. March 23, 2020 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born January 17, 1929 in Ottumwa to Herman and Della Mae Ricketts Hall. She married Virgil L. Corzette October 5, 1947 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage before he preceded her in death March 28, 2015.
A 1947 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Velma was a bookkeeper for SIEDA for 13 years and the Salvation Army for over 30 years.
She was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church and currently a member of Pickwick Community Church. She also belonged to the Ottumwa Bird Club and Indian Hills Good Sams.
Velma enjoyed gardening and canning.
Surviving are 2 sons, Dan L. (Linda) Corzette of Galesburg, IL and Greg (Becky) Corzette of Ottumwa; 3 grandchildren, Josh (Angie) Corzette of Ottumwa, Megan Doyle of Solon, and Ben (Paula) Corzette of Onawa, IA; 5 great-grandchildren, Ricki, Makayla, Jackson, Elizabeth and Declan; and a sister Gwen Hall of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Corzette, two grandchildren, Wes Corzette and Michelle Corzette, and 3 brothers, Darwin Neal Hall, Bill Hall and Dean Hall.
Her body has been cremated and services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pickwick Community Church or the Good Samaritan Assisted Living Activity Fund.
