OHS 2020 Seniors Will Get a Graduation Ceremony

OTTUMWA – We understand many of our seniors and their families were disappointed by the cancellation of a traditional commencement ceremony in May. Recent changes to Iowa’s COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, allowing large gatherings to be held while following social distancing guidelines. As a result, several schools across the state have hosted, or will be hosting, a more traditional outdoor graduation ceremony. After a recent student/parent survey, over 80% of respondents want Ottumwa High School to host a more traditional graduation ceremony.

OHS will host a formal graduation ceremony on Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m. at Schafer Stadium.

Students are asked to arrive by 1:15 p.m. with their cap and gown to allow time to check-in and line up for the ceremony. Social distancing guidelines will be followed to the extent possible. Up to five family members can attend the event. Families need to RSVP by July 3 using the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf6i_yMjBScM-UxJK1KHu3JToVuJ07FOHpdDPx4mwQTrKmQBg/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1

Tickets will be mailed to the address provided.
