Wapello County, Iowa – Wapello County Department of Public Health and Wapello County Emergency Management are deeply saddened to announce the death of an individual between the ages of 41- 60 in Wapello County due to COVID-19.
We, as well as all of our community agencies, Public Safety and Emergency Response partners, send our deepest condolences to the family of this individual. Our community holds them in our thoughts and prayers.
COVID-19 is making a resurgence across the United States. Positive cases are on the rise, including here in Iowa with the virus now affecting more people between the ages of 20 -50.
Wapello County residents should continue to vigilantly follow the recommendations of Iowa Department of Public Health to protect their own health, each other and especially those most vulnerable. Please continue to social distance and wear a mask if you have one. Clean and disinfect highly used surfaces. If you are sick, stay home and call your healthcare provider for instruction. If you have tested positive you can be with others after 10 days have passed since symptoms have first appeared, and 3 days with no fever, and symptoms are improved. If you or a loved one has been exposed to COVID-19, quarantine for fourteen days and monitor for symptoms.
